Jon P. Treder – Founder

Jon P. Treder co-founded Electricraft, Inc. with his father in 1984, assumed full ownership and control in 1989 and, through 2011, served as the President, Chief Executive Officer. His current title is Founder, serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and as a consultant to his sons, Jon W. (Wes) Treder (President/CEO) and Jacob P. Treder (CFO/VP), who actively manage the day-to-day field & administrative operations of Electricraft.

Training and experience

  • San Luis Obispo resident since 1970
  • Attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo; Agricultural Engineering major
  • Completed an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers state certified electrical training apprenticeship program. Four years of in-field on the job training and classroom theory.
  • Extensive and diverse level of experience and expertise as an electrician by trade and in the electrical contracting business.
  • Extensive experience with the medium voltage underground distribution systems, Unit Substations, Switchgear, Motor Control Gear, PCB Disposal, large Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) systems, Battery Rooms, Emergency and Standby Generators.
  • Extensive experience with the construction of raw land and roof top wireless communications sites, including the installation of power, counter poise grounding, generators, cable tray, coax cabling & termination, antenna work, monopoles, towers, connectors, civil, concrete, structural, tenant improvement build-outs, ground resistance and cable testing.

  • Has worked on projects of all sizes, from the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant to small service and repair jobs

Jon W. (Wes)Treder – President/CEO

Jon W. (Wes) Treder joined Electricraft, Inc. in 1995 and currently serves as President CEO, Corporate Secretary, Senior Estimator, and Project Manager. Wes is responsible for and directly manages field crew operations and field human relations in addition to a wide variety of small to large and difficult projects from preparation of estimates through purchasing, design build, project management, commissioning, and close-out documentation. Wes is the qualifier for the Electricraft California State Contractors License.

Training and experience

  • Wes completed a 5-year apprenticeship through the San Luis Obispo International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers state certified electrical training apprenticeship program, gaining his Journeyman Wireman Classification
  • Spent time in the field gaining Journeyman Wireman experience and quickly moved to full-time estimating
  • Proficient in CAD
  • Experience with construction and completion of numerous wireless and landline communication projects throughout California for Nextel Communication, GTE Wireless, Via Wireless LLC, AT&T Wireless, Sprint, Pacific Wireless, Pacific Bell and Verizon

  • Manages several design/build projects annually from the inception of the design and permitting through construction completion and commissioning.
  • Managed numerous jobs for military installations throughout California and County of San Luis Obispo including: the SLO County Courthouse Facility and SLO General Hospital, California Polytechnic State University, ISFSI Security Installation at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant, SLO County Airport Beacon Replacement, and numerous large Communication Sites at Fort Hunter Liggett
  • Oversees diverse involvement in high voltage installations involving terminations, splices and testing
  • Designed a LEED Gold Project in Santa Rosa, CA and, as project manager, has managed the completion of thousands of  lighting fixture retrofits and upgrades at Vandenberg Air Force Base, numerous County of San Luis Obispo facility buildings, SLO County Jail lighting retrofit project and Allan Hancock Community College Campus Lighting Retrofit

Jacob P. Treder – VP/CFO

Jacob P. Treder joined Electricraft, Inc. in 1995 and serves as CFO, Corporate Treasurer, Vice President, Senior Estimator, and Project Manager. He oversees the day-to-day administration of all financial and office Administrative operations including record keeping, budgeting, reconciliation and reporting, as well as all banking, bonding and human relations.

Dave Horton

David C. (Dave) Horton began working at Electricraft, Inc. in 2000 and is now on the management team as a well seasoned estimator/project manager. Dave received his Associate’s degree in Construction Management at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks and moved to the Central Coast to attend Cal Poly where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Forestry and Natural Resources Management with a minor in Geographic Information Systems.

Training and experience

  • Worked for the US Forest Service on hot shot and helicopter crews, gained experience working with hazardous materials
  • Joined Electricraft gaining extensive knowledge in electrical material and operations, worked closely with experienced Electricraft staff, attended electrical estimating and PG&E efficiency courses

Beverly Peck

Beverly Peck started with Electricraft, Inc. in 1992 and has since become an integral part of the history and success of Electricraft’s reputation and growth. In her early years with Electricraft, Beverly was immersed in numerous administrative staff support and record keeping duties, which included inventory of electrical materials, vehicles and vehicle maintenance, bid form preparation and correspondence. In addition, her position included full charge bookkeeping, payroll processing, monthly reporting of all financial records and financial statements. She assisted in preparing all financial reporting necessary for Electricraft to maintain Workers Compensation and General Liability Insurance, Banking Lines of Credit and Bonding capacities. Position advancement moved Beverly on to Office Manager assisting with overseeing the accounting department and office staff as Electricraft grew and added personnel. Having gained a detailed and diverse experience with Electricraft’s operation and an immersion in the service end of the business, Beverly accepted her current position as the manager of the Service Management Department. Our Service Management Department provides trouble shooting, fault finding, repair, maintenance, remodel, and fixed price contract work for our customers providing them with an exceptional service experience. Beverly exemplifies the traditional Electricraft, Inc. “Make It Happen” philosophy and ensures each customer’s complete satisfaction.

  • She has a keen ability to recall details of Electricraft’s history of work performed and our customer base as well as the daily requirement to translate each request to a technical electrical product

Mike Agar

Mike Agar has served as a Journeyman Wireman for Electricraft, Inc. since 1997 and is vastly experienced in service trouble shooting, problem solving, testing, fault finding, load testing and small to medium sized contract projects. He studied Electrical Theory and Practice at Mesa College, completed his apprenticeship and assisted with the installations of electrical systems in new construction of apartments, warehouses and tilt up concrete building while with DeHamer Electric and Spark Electric in San Diego and Trans Cal Electric in Escondido. At Electricraft, Mike has been an invaluable resource as a service man, trouble man and problem-solver.

Training and experience

  • Gained experience with installation of Telecom systems
  • As an Electrician and Foreman at Precision Electric in El Cajon, CA, supervised up to 12 people and was responsible for jobs from start to final inspection

  • Coordinated with job superintendents to meet requirements and necessary changes to plans and formulated innovative solutions to problems within code requirements.

Dale Garnsey

Dale Garnsey has served as a core company Foreman and has been a key asset to field management and production for Electricraft, Inc. since 1998.

Training and experience

  • Completed 5-year apprentice training through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers state certified electrical training apprenticeship program
  • Has worked for various contractors in the electrical industry and gained vast experience in industrial and commercial electrical power installations including: underground boring, motor control, overhead pole line work, underground duct bank, school, refinery projects and sophisticated electrical systems at Vandenberg Air Force Base Launch Facilities
  • Significant experience in the wireless communications industry and has built numerous wireless communication sites; work coordinated and performed include: earthwork site preparation, underground counterpoise grounding systems, structural concrete placement, tower and monopole erection, coax cable and connector installation, antenna and microwave installation, site build-up, , equipment operation and commissioning
  • Extensive experience in the construction of electrical power distribution systems in Buildings, and Underground Distribution

  • A key Electricraft Foreman for underground medium voltage distribution, infrastructure construction, cable placement, splicing and terminations.  Certified High Voltage Splicer up to 15KV through to 69KV.

Tom Monroe

Tom Monroe has served as a Journeyman Wireman for Electricraft, Inc. since 2004 and has completed many projects for various contractors in the electrical industry. He is highly praised and requested by our customers time and time again.

Training and experience

  • Graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a B.S. in Industrial Tech
  • Completed 4-year apprenticeship gaining his Journeyman Wireman Classification through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers state certified electrical training apprenticeship program with Sacramento Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee
  • Worked with Royal Electric in Sacramento as an apprentice, journeyman and foreman
  • Worked for local San Luis Obispo electrical contracting firms as a journeyman, foreman and service technician.
  • Experience in industrial, commercial, and residential projects including military bases, wineries, hospitals/medical facilities, schools/universities, restaurants, municipal water/sewer facilities, data/telecom facilities, commercial/government offices, oil fields, service stations, hazardous/explosion proof wiring, municipal street lights/traffic signals, and motor control systems
  • Proficient in installation of and troubleshooting solar systems, code inspections/repair, underground cable locating/repair, residential service/troubleshooting including repair of aluminum wiring and ceiling radiant heat, light and power pole installation/repair, and troubleshooting of public/residential pools and spas

Brad Shetley

Brad Shetley joined Electricraft, Inc. in 2002 as an apprentice and previously worked as a residential wireman. Brad is a core employee and a valuable producer on projects of all sizes.

  • 5 years of on-the-job training and classroom instruction through International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers state-certified electrical training apprenticeship program, gaining his Journeyman Wireman Classification

  • Has worked on a variety of projects including installation of street lights in new residential developments, backup generator installations, lift station upgrades, and service work and is a key producer on large private and public industrial projects
  • Coordinated and performed the installation of three backup generators for the City of Salinas sewer lift stations

Scott Steil

Scott Steil has served as a Journeyman Wireman and Foreman for Electricraft, Inc. since 2000 and is a “make it happen”, “get it done” producer on Electricraft projects. He began working in the electrical industry in 1990.

Training and experience

  • Completed 4-year apprenticeship, of on-the-job training and classroom instruction through International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers state-certified electrical training apprenticeship program, gaining his Journeyman Wireman Classification.
  • Gained experience working for various contractors around California’s Central Coast prior to joining Electricraft
  • Experience and focus has been commercial and industrial installations gained through projects involving wineries, schools, hospitals, factory outlet centers, restaurants, nuclear power, natural gas power plants and in the wireless communications industry building numerous wireless communications sites

  • Worked for several years on a service truck responding to trouble calls and on small to medium installations.
  • The beginning years with Electricraft was actively involved in the construction of numerous cellular telephone sites throughout California

Nick Arellanes

Nick Arellanes a native San Luis Obispo County Resident, joined Electricraft, Inc. in 2012 and has performed electrical work in San Luis Obispo County for over 30 years.

Nick worked for Arroyo Electric from 1984 to 1998 and assumed ownership from his father in 1989 gaining and holding a C-10 Electrical Contractors license those early years of his career. Following the closure of Arroyo Electric Nick continued his diverse experience working on Commercial and large scale industrial projects. Nick worked the next 13 years mainly on Industrial Projects.

Training and experience

  • Completed 4-year apprenticeship, of on-the-job training and classroom instruction through International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers state-certified electrical training apprenticeship program, gaining his Journeyman Wireman Classification in San Luis Obispo Apprenticeship and Training Committee in 1984.
  • At Arroyo Electric, gained extensive electrical construction experience in Commercial, industrial, institutional, and government projects.

Projects and jobs completed

  • Commercial projects include remodel of Thrifty/Payless Drug Stores. Industrial projects include Reverse Osmosis plant at Diablo Canyon, Institutional projects include Medium Voltage Distribution at Cuesta College and numerous projects for local governmental entities and school districts with significant experience in school work for Lucia Mar, Paso Robles, Templeton and Atascadero School Districts.
  • More projects would include San Benito Road Elementary, Atascadero Jr. High School, Daniel Lewis Middle School, Baur/Speck Elementary, AGHS Technology Lab and Vocational Training Facility at Templeton High School.
  • Completed projects include Paso Robles Barney Swartz Park, Airport Expansions at San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria.
  • Highway projects for California Department of Transportation which included traffic signals, highway lighting and traffic monitoring equipment.
  • Other projects included School Ball Field Sports Lighting, numerous sewer lift stations, water treatment and storage facilities for the City of Paso Robles, a Spent fuel facility and encapsulation of a Steam Generator and new fresh water make up water wells at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant until joining Electricraft in 2012.

Jack Betrue

Jack is the newest member of our Electricraft Estimating and Project management team joining us in November of 2013. Jack’s prior work experience has been dedicated to owning and managing as partner and then as sole owner, electrical construction firms in the towns of Visalia and Exeter working throughout Tulare and Kings Counties. As a prior contractor Jack’s focused on electrical design and construction for numerous Commercial buildings, Church and Public School Classrooms, and hundreds of public works and private electrical construction projects.

Training and experience

  • Completed 4 years of on-the-job training and classroom instruction through the San Jose International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers state-certified electrical training apprenticeship program, gaining his Journeyman Wireman Classification.

 

  • As estimator / project manager for Electricraft, Jack brings strengths in Construction and Demolition projects providing estimating, Design, Budgeting, Cost controls, Safety/OSHA Compliance, field supervision, Sub contractor award, management and coordination, Change order management, equipment and material management.

  • Notable past projects completed; New construction of Lindsay High School, Lindsay CA,  Sequoia Middle School, Porterville CA, Mission Valley Elementary School, Tulare CA.
  • Other projects completed were Elementary, Junior and High School new construction and modernization, numerous School re-locatable buildings, new construction and modernization of County and State Courthouse buildings, Church Sanctuaries, Classrooms and Administration Buildings, Private office building and strip malls.

Jeff Rudd

Jeff, a native San Luis Obispo County Resident, started with Electricraft, Inc. in 2011 specifically to lead the expansion and development of our Solar department where he is responsible as Estimator and Project Manager for roof and ground mount designs, permitting, site layout, supervision, installations, quality control, commissioning and total customer satisfaction. At Electricraft, Jeff has completed numerous Residential installations as well as several small to medium sized Commercial and Industrial solar projects.

Training and experience

  • Completed 5 years of on-the-job training and classroom instruction through the San Luis Obispo, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers state-certified electrical training apprenticeship program, gaining his Journeyman Wireman Classification.
  • Prior to coming to Electricraft in 2011, Jeff became involved fairly early in the solar industry starting in 2003 working for a local Solar contractor as Operations Manager and Field Forman where he was responsible for and involved in hundreds of solar installations.

Jack Haley

Jack Haley, a native San Luis Obispo County Resident, joined Electricraft, Inc. in 2005 with the specific plan to gain as much knowledge of the electrical industry, material and the work associated with electrical construction. Jack also had a desire to serve an apprenticeship in the electrical trade.

Jack stayed with Electricraft and was accepted and completed his apprenticeship gaining his Journeyman Wireman Classification in 2011 and quickly set the pace for himself at Electricraft to be a valued key producer for medium to large commercial, industrial, and public works infrastructure projects. Jack has become a valued core employee of the Electricraft field crew.

  • Completed 5 years of on-the-job training and classroom instruction through the San Luis Obispo, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers state-certified electrical training apprenticeship program, gaining his Journeyman Wireman Classification
  • Gained experience over the last 2 years, Jack has been completing thousands of High Voltage Splices, terminations and High Potential testing of High Voltage circuits.  Certified High Voltage Splicer for 15KV through to 69KV systems.

Carrie Treder

Carrie joined Electricraft in 2010 first as a project coordinator providing support for our Project Managers assisting with the vast amounts of project paper work necessary in performing large and long duration Public Works projects. Carrie’s prior experience working on large local projects for construction management firms exposed her to and allowed her refine her natural organizational skills to develop a highly proficient ability to manage large quantities of detailed date and time sensitive technical packages involving, submittals, RFI submission and return tracking, certified payroll reporting and compliance, tracking preliminary lien filings and releases, applications for payment, bid preparation and numerous other correspondence.

Carrie, by the nature of her involvement as Project Coordinator, slowly became involved with the Electricraft administrative duties, first processing Payroll, Payroll reporting, along with State and Federal reporting. When our long term Bookkeeping individual retired, Carrie was a natural to take on the full bookkeeping duties involving all phases associated with General Ledger Accounting with complete monthly financial reporting to the owners.

Carrie is a very detailed orientated individual who is consciences, loyal, dedicated and  committed  to reconciling to the penny.

Jeff Mosher

Jeff joined Electricraft in 2008 while he was working on the Fiber Optic installation for the Nacimiento Pipeline water project with Davis Telecom who was subcontracting to and later consolidated with Electricraft. Jeff continued to peruse, train, gain certifications and advance his broad knowledge of Copper Cable and Fiber Optic premise and infrastructure cabling and has established his place with Electricraft as our core Data Com lead technician.

  • As a journeyman wireman working for local electrical contractors Jeff gained his early experience installing electrical systems in new and remodel construction within buildings and outside plans, performing the normal installations of the electrical trade, underground branch circuit power and lighting conduit, wire, devices, feeders, switchgear and various other finish electrical equipment components.
  • He continued his experience gaining a position in the Data Comm installation field where he seemed to fill a nitch for his personal career desires and the electrical construction demands.

Projects and jobs completed

  • Experience in the electrical power portion of our trade involved new Hospital Construction from the ground up, beginning to end, including Central Plant, Trauma Rooms, Exam Rooms, Radiology, Airport Expansions, School remodels and new construction and Public Park and Recreation.
  • Data/Comm experience consisted of Copper and Fiber Cable installations, pre install compliance testing, fusion splicing, Terminations, final testing, commissioning. Notable projects have been San Luis Obispo Emergency Dispatch Center, Allan Hancock Student Service Center, Nacimiento Pipeline Southern Section, Rosetta Web Sphere Commerce, and San Luis Obispo Fire Station radio upgrades.   
  • Jeff is proficient in the technical instruments used in the Fiber Optic field such as Optical Light Source & Power Meters, OTDR Optical Time Domain Refractometers, and Cable analyzers. 

Continuing education & certifications

  • Continued education in electrical code classes, Journeyman Wiremen Training classes and maintains his Electricians Certification as required by the California State Division of Labor Standards
